In 1890, Harland Sanders was born. In 1930, Sanders opened the Sanders Court & Cafe in front of his gas station in Corbin, Kentucky. The Original Recipe was created in 1940 by Colonel Sanders using 11 secret herbs and spices. In 1952, the Colonel begins franchising his business by cooking for restaurant owners while traveling from town to town. Buckets of Kentucky Fried Chicken are first offered for sale in 1957. More than 600 franchised locations opened in the USA, Canada, and the UK in 1964. KFC first opens in Kuwait in 1974. At the age of 90, Colonel Sanders dies in 1980. His legacy endures.
